Why can my friend see different jobs to me?

Why you might see different jobs than another Sidekick, and how to access more work

Updated over 5 months ago

Did you notice that your friend has different open jobs on their app from yours? You might also have access to jobs that others cannot see. This is because the jobs you can apply for are specifically tailored to;

  • your past work experience

  • the skills you demonstrated in your interview

  • the certificates you have uploaded to your profile

  • the job preferences you set on Sidekicker

  • reliability reasons.

Work experience and skill-set

During your interview, our team consider a multitude of factors (such as your prior work experience and skill set) to determine the industries and roles you are best suited for.

If you believe you are suitable for a particular role that you are not currently approved for, we would love to hear from you! See here for more information on what industries Sidekicker currently operates in.

Certificates

The certificates you upload to your Sidekicker profile also impact which jobs you can access on Sidekicker. This is because some businesses have additional requirements, such as a Police Check or a Working With Children Check.

If you have any additional certificates that you have not uploaded to your profile, we would encourage you to do so. Some common certificates that can give you access to more work include:

  • Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA)

  • Barista certificate

  • Police Check

  • Working with Children Check

For information on how to upload certificates to your Sidekicker profile, see here.

Job preferences

Your job preferences on Sidekicker tell us which jobs you want to be notified about based on your availability and location preferences. These settings can be updated on the Sidekicker app at any time and are completely within your control.

To learn more about job preferences and how to update these settings, see here.

Reliability reasons

It is possible your reliability history is different to your friend's. If your reliability drops below our threshold, your visibility on certain shifts may be limited. You can gain back visibility on the shifts by demonstrating great reliability and attendance to shifts you've applied to, or have been confirmed for.
