As a Sidekick working in the food industry, you will be required to complete a Food Handlers/Safety course to work in any roles requiring the handling and cooking of food items. This includes roles like kitchen hand, catering assistant and cook/chef.
How do I get a Food Handlers Certificate?
If you do not have a Food Handler's certificate already, you can complete a free (non-accredited) course such as Do Food Safely.
Alternatively, you can complete an accredited course for a fee, such as Clear to Work.
Important Notes
We can also accept a Certificate or Diploma in hospitality- you can upload the course transcript showing the completed units, including SITXFSA001.
Sidekicker is not able to reimburse any costs associated with the course you complete.
How do I upload my certificate to my Sidekicker profile?
Once you have completed the course, you will be sent your Food Handlers certificate via email.
You can upload a copy of your results to your Sidekicker profile by following these steps:
Click here to log in and edit your Sidekicker profile
Scroll down to the Certificates section
Click on ‘Food Handlers Certificate’ to upload your document
How long is my Food Handler's Certificate valid?
Once attained, this certificate does not expire.
