How do I complete my profile as a Private Sidekick?

What to do when a business has invited you to join their private workforce

Updated this week

What is a Private Sidekick?

Businesses can manage their rostering, shift scheduling, and payroll through Sidekicker by inviting staff members on to the platform as 'Private Sidekicks'.

Being a 'Private Sidekick' means you are an employee of Sidekicker, but can only view and work shifts for the business that invited you.

What happens when a business has invited you as a Private Sidekick?

You'll find an email 'Invitation to join Sidekicker' in your email inbox (if not, please check your junk mail), with a link to accept the invitation.

Accept the invitation, and start your easy onboarding to become a Private Sidekick. The sooner you complete your profile, the sooner you can start accepting shifts!

How to complete your profile?

There are just a few simple steps to complete in order to start working with the company who invited you. Follow through the instructions below.

Step 1: Log in to your Sidekicker account here

Step 2: Complete all mandatory certificates

The certificates section includes a list of certificates for you to upload. This includes at least two mandatory certificates: OH&S Induction and Right to Work check, and potential other certificates based on the role you commence working as.

OH&S Induction
Click the certificate name and you'll be taken to the OH&S quiz that should take 5-10 minutes to complete. You must answer all questions successfully to pass the quiz.

Right to Work check
To verify your right to work, you’ll need a visa or citizenship document:
AU: Check out this page for instructions on how to verify your working rights in AU
NZ: Take a look here for instructions on how to verify your working rights in NZ

Step 3: Fill out your Account Settings

You are required to complete your Account Settings before you can be activated on Sidekicker. The information is super important, as it allows us to manage your weekly payroll.

Account Details

  • Information about you (date of birth, contact info)

  • Emergency contact information

  • Employment details

  • Tax File Number–This is a 9-digit number that you’re required to have to work in Australia

  • Superannuation details–if you don’t have your own Super Account already set up, we can organise one with Host Plus for you

Bank Details

  • We need your BSB and Account number to pay you–please ensure these are accurate, or this may result in delayed pay!

For the security of your private information, please DO NOT send these details via message or email. It's best to update them directly on your profile.

Step 4: Submit for approval

Once everything is complete, you’ll see three blue ticks. You can then go to the “Submit” tab to submit your profile for approval. Our team will review it as soon as possible. Your certificates will be checked as soon as your profile is submitted.

Make sure your Profile section includes your information in the About Me section, your experience and preferred work type

Missing any of these sections will prevent you from submitting your profile.
