How to use opportunities
Updated over a week ago

The opportunities feature us a great solution for businesses looking to streamline their recruitment processes for skill-specific or long term roles.

What is an opportunity

Opportunities are more comparable to a more traditional 'job ad' you might see on job boards such as SEEK. Unlike a 'request' which operates as a specific shift for a specific date and time.

Opportunities help you attract Sidekicks committed to a long or ongoing assignment, and allow you to shortlist and screen applicants before making a hiring decision.

Please note: Opportunities need to be enabled on your account for you to use them. If you don't see it on your navigation bar, contact us via the blue chat bubble to set it up.

How to post an opportunity

Posting opportunities is easy! Follow the below steps:

  1. Select 'Opportunities' on the left navigation bar, and click 'Create opportunity'

  2. Add opportunity details such as job title, category, location and description

  3. Add screener questions which applicants must answer when applying for your job. These will help you make decisions who to shortlist on your opportunity.

  4. Click 'Create opportunity' to post it

Once you've posted your opportunity, it will go live to our pool of Sidekicks who have been screened and approved to work in the category selected.

How the recruitment process works through opportunities

As you start receiving applicants, they will show up in the opportunity 'to review' tab. From there, the action you'll need to take is to review the applicants, and either 'shortlist' or 'pass' their application.

Shortlisting an applicant

Shortlist any applicant who you think may be suitable for your role, and you want to find more about. Simply click the 'Shortlist' button next to their application.

You'll be revealed the Sidekick phone and email details after shortlisting them, so you can easily get in touch to further screening.

Shortlisted Sidekicks will receive an email notification informing you may reach out to them shortly.

Passing an applicant

'Pass' any applicant that is not suited for your role by clicking the 'Pass' button next to their application. This will send an immediate email notification to the Sidekick saying they've been unsuccessful.

Hiring applicants

Once a Sidekick on your shortlist is screened and you've decided to hire them for your role, you'll see an option 'Add to pool' next to their application.

This will allow you to save your Sidekick into a Talent Pool so you can easily start rostering them for future requests which will work as their roster and timesheet.
