As a casual worker, flexibility is key! This means that you are able to choose shifts that fit in with your schedule, but also that clients can also adapt their hours to fit their own requirements.
Flexible Working Hours
We understand that working as a casual can sometimes present unexpected changes due to the casual nature of the businesses we serve. We recognize that these sudden alterations in work requirements can be challenging to navigate, however, we are dedicated to collaborating closely with our clients to anticipate and support their staffing needs to the best of our abilities. As a result, we strive to ensure that the shift times advertised to you are as accurate as possible, although there may be instances where they differ from the actual hours you end up working.
What if my shift ended earlier than scheduled?
We value your time and want to ensure that you are fairly compensated for the hours you contribute. If your shift is cut short and falls below the minimum shift length requirement stipulated by the respective Fairwork Award, we want to assure you that you will automatically receive payment for the shift minimum. Additionally, there may be occasions when a client requests you to stay beyond the initially expected finish time. While you are not obligated to extend your availability beyond the advertised finish time, we want to emphasize that any extra work you undertake will be compensated accordingly.
What if the client moved the shift time to start earlier?
If there are changes or increases to the resourcing that a client needs, they may move your start time earlier to get more staff on shift sooner! If you can make this new time, great! We are glad to offer you some extra hours.
If you are not able to make the new start time, please reach out via the blue chat bubble as soon as possible, and we can advise you whether it's best to withdraw (which will not affect your account) or arrive at the original time.
To ensure accurate and prompt payment, we kindly request that you submit your timesheet based on your actual start and finish times. This way, we can accurately assess the hours you worked and guarantee that you receive the compensation you deserve. This is also required for breaks.
