This article covers everything you need to know about navigating your feed, including information on filtering, shift labels, and hiring & passing shifts.
Feed filters
On the top of your feed, you can see 3 filters for ‘Category’, ‘Availability’ and ‘Location’. These filters help you define which shifts you can see on your feed.
Category
You can select which category shifts you wish to view on your feed, based on the roles you’ve been approved for.
For example, if you’re just looking for Warehousing and Logistics shifts for now, you can solely select ‘Warehousing and Logistics’ as the category.
Availability
Select the dates and times you’re available to work, and your feed will only show you shifts that are set within these timeframes.
For example, if you're not available on Wednesdays the whole day, then adjust your availability for Wednesdays to only those hours that you're available to work.
Location
Set your location, and the distance you are happy to travel for work. By expanding the distance, you’ll see more shifts.
The filters you’ve set up will be saved on your feed for the future as well, so remember that if you ever struggle to see enough shifts, check which filters you have on and try expanding them.
Shift sorting
The shift sorting options are visible next to the filtering options, and you can choose one of the following options to sort your feed:
Smart match - Shifts you're most likely to get hired on (default, and recommended to keep your shifts sorted this way)
Shift date - From the earliest start date to the latest
Posted date - From the most recently posted to the latest
Applied shifts
Underneath the filters on your feed, you’ll see a bar called ‘Applied’ if you have applied to some shifts on the platform that are waiting for the client’s hiring decision.
Applied shifts are ordered by the shift start date. If you turn out unavailable to any of these shifts before the hiring decision has been made, please make sure to withdraw from the shift by clicking into the shift details, and selecting ‘Remove application’.
When you’ve been hired to a shift, you’ll receive an instant notification and the shift will move to ‘My shifts’ which you’ll find on the bottom navigation bar.
Shift labels
You’ll notice some shifts on your feed may have a colourful label underneath the business name. These labels will help you understand the types of shifts you’re looking at:
Last minute job: A shift posted within 24-hours from scheduled start time.
Ongoing roster: A longer-term job opportunity.
Invite only: A shift posted to a select group of Sidekicks, including you.
Auto-hire shifts
Along with the labels, you may see a ⚡️- symbol resembling auto-hire shifts. This means, you’ll be instantly hired to the shift upon application, so make sure you’re sure you want the shift before applying.
Bulk apply for shifts
Upon applying for a shift on your feed, you may see a screen saying there are similar jobs from the same company that you might be interested in applying as well.
In that case, you're provided a chance to bulk apply for shifts on different dates that you're also available for by selecting the preferred dates, or, bulk apply for all shifts if set on the same date and time.
