What is an opportunity?

What are opportunities on Sidekicker and how do I know if I've been selected for one?

Updated over a week ago

An opportunity is a chance to access exclusive jobs with a client in the future. On your Sidekicker App, opportunities will appear on your Open jobs dashboard the same as usual shifts. You can differentiate between the two as a shift will provide you with estimated earnings whereas an opportunity will not.

On a browser, the jobs and opportunities are separated into two sections:

When you click on an opportunity, you'll be able to see more details about the potential role. This will include a start date, estimated duration, pay rate and the general location.

How can I apply for an opportunity?

Simply take a read through the description, and if you are interested, you can click on the 'Apply' button.

You'll be asked additional questions in relation to the role, including about your availability and experience.  Clients will review your answers and make a decision, so it's important to make sure you add as much detail as possible and highlight your relevant experience and skills.

How will I know if I've been successful?

You'll receive an email to let you know the outcome of your application. The timeframe for a client to select applicants can vary so please be patient if haven't heard back yet.

If you have been successful, the client may add you to their exclusive talent pool to post shifts to you directly. Alternatively, one of our staff may get in touch to discuss further details with you about the role. Keep a look out on your app and email!

I received an email saying that my application was successful. Am I guaranteed work?

While the majority of opportunities will turn into jobs on your Sidekicker app, work is not guaranteed. Like all jobs, requirements can change and the opportunity may not eventuate into a job. Don't be too disappointed, you'll see more opportunities posted on your Sidekicker app.

I can't see the opportunity anymore:

This means one of two things:

  1. That you were successful in your application - congratulations!  Keep a look out for an email or call from our team to further discuss the details with you.

  2. That you were unsuccessful - In this case the opportunity will disappear from your applied tab. You should be notified by an email message letting you know this.

Can I remove my application?

You can withdraw your application at any point - you can do this by clicking the 'Remove application' button on the opportunity page.
