How do I withdraw from a Sidekicker shift?

As a general rule — you should only apply for shifts you know you’ll be available to work. If you apply for a shift on your Sidekicker App, you’re expected to be available to work if you’re hired. However, we understand that occasionally your circumstances and schedule may change, meaning you may turn out unavailable for the shift.

In this case, you will need to withdraw from the job on Sidekicker, as soon as possible.

How to withdraw from a shift I am hired onto

Always withdraw using your Sidekicker App. Follow these easy steps below:

  1. Log into your Sidekicker App

  2. Find the shift on ‘My shifts’ on the bottom navigation bar

  3. Click onto the shift to see full details

  4. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click the ‘Withdraw’ button

  5. Select the most accurate withdrawal reason, and confirm withdrawal

Withdrawing using your Sidekicker App will notify the Sidekicker team, and the client, that you’re no longer attending to the shift. Be sure to check out the Reliability Policy.

What if I need to speak with someone about my withdrawal?

As a general rule, you should withdraw using your Sidekicker App. However, in some edge cases there may be an instance where you need to get in touch with Sidekicker about your attendance. These include:

  • If you are hired on a fixed-term job, and only need to withdraw from one or couple of shifts (not the entire week) → Do not withdraw via the App, but get in touch with the Sidekicker Support Team via the chat bubble.

  • If the business who hired you made changes to the job which do not suit you (e.g. a time change, or change in requirements) → Contact the Sidekicker Support Team via the chat bubble.

Can I contact a business directly to withdraw?

Never contact the business directly about a withdrawal — always go through our Support Team to make sure the withdrawal process is handled the best way for the client and for yourself.

By notifying Sidekicker of your withdrawal, we can make sure the correct business contacts are notified and start looking for a replacement Sidekick.

If you contact the business about your withdrawal instead of contacting Sidekicker, we will not be able to provide the business with this level of support which can be really damaging to both their business and ours.
