What is MAP Shifts?

MAP Shifts feature enables you to request temporary staff from multiple agency providers. You can view and accept submitted candidates and keep track of all agency staff in one place.


How does it work?

Requesting and hiring temporary staff via Agency Shifts is quick and easy, follow the 2 steps below. Log into your Sidekicker account here to get started.

Step 1: Post MAP shift

  1. Navigate to your Home Page, and select 'Post a shift'

  2. Complete the shift form, and select agencies to send it to

  3. Click 'Create shift' and your selected agencies will receive a vacancy request

Step 2: Hire workers

Sidekicker will email you when you have workers to review. Click shift details to see all submitted workers.

  1. Click the worker name to see their details submitted by the agency, and contact the agency directly if any questions

  2. Choose to either 'Hire' or 'Pass' each worker, provide any additional information the agency might need, and click 'Confirm' to inform the agency

  3. When you have hired the requested number of workers, the shift status will move to 'Filled' and agencies can not submit more workers.


Where to review your shifts

By clicking 'Shifts' on the left navigation bar under 'MAP', you can review all shifts.

  1. 'Active' shifts show all upcoming shifts, either in open or filled status

  2. 'Completed' shifts show all past shifts, either in completed, cancelled or expired

Shift cancellations

If you need to cancel your shift, you can do so by following the below steps

  1. Find the shift you wish to cancel, and click the three dots for more options

  2. Click 'Cancel shift' and your agencies will receive an automated email notification


Worker withdrawals

If a hired worker should turn unavailable for your shift, they will communicate that to their agency. This will generate an email notification to you.

Upon a shift withdrawal, your shift will automatically re-open for the agencies, informing them you require more workers to fill your shift.

General FAQ

  • What is the difference between 'Requests' and 'Shifts' on Sidekicker?

    • 'Requests' is used when requesting temp staff directly from Sidekicker

    • 'Shifts' is used when requesting temp staff from multiple agencies at once

  • I can't see the 'Agency Shifts' option on the platform. What should I do?

    • MAP Shifts -feature is activated upon a request. If you can't see it, you likely don't have access to it.

  • How can I onboard a new agency?

    • Please reach out to the Sidekicker Support team to onboard a new agency to [email protected]. The following information will be requested for the agency setup;

      • Agency name

      • List of agency users (full name & email address)

      • Agency logo (300 x 300, PNG, highest resolution possible)

  • Do I have to pick Sidekicker as an agency?

    • No. You are free to choose whichever agencies you'd like the shift to be sent to.

  • Will Sidekicker verify or screen workers submitted by other agencies?

    • No. Sidekicker only facilitates the connection between you as a hirer and your existing relationship with labour hire agencies.

    • Workers put forward by Sidekicker are fully vetted and meet the Sidekicker standard you are familiar with.

    • Each agency is responsible for ensuring workers put forward to meet the standard by their agreement with you.

  • The agency I am working with has a question about how the platform works. Who should they contact?

    • Agencies can reach out to the Sidekicker Support team if they have any questions about how the platform works or experiencing technical difficulties at [email protected]

  • I have a problem with a worker provided by one of the agencies.

    • Please contact the relevant labour hire agency to discuss the issue directly.

  • How do workers get paid for their shift?

    • Workers submit timesheets and get paid as per your current process with each of your agencies. If you're unsure, confirm the process with the relevant agency.

Shift management

  • Can I edit the Agency Shift details after posting it?

    • Editing a shift after posting is not possible. If you have updates please get in touch with your agencies directly.

  • I requested too much labour, and now I need to cancel a worker's shift. What should I do?

    • Get in touch with one of your agencies who you have hired a worker from, and ask them to withdraw the worker from the shift.

  • I need more labour for the shift than I requested. How can I request more?

    • Post another shift request for your agencies to work on filling the remaining spots.
