This article provides insight into what to do next, including where to find the job on your dashboard, how to contact the business (if required), how to confirm your attendance with Sidekicker and how to withdraw from the job if you are no longer able to work.

Where do I find jobs I have been hired on?

After being hired to work a job, you can find it in the 'Active' section on your jobs dashboard. We recommend clicking into the job and reviewing the job details and requirements, including:

  • Date and time

  • Location

  • Uniform requirements (if applicable)

  • Any other shift requirements (e.g. if an online induction is required)

If you are unable to meet any requirements you should withdraw from the job as soon as possible. Bear in mind that any withdrawals are subject to the conditions outlined in our Reliability Policy.

How do I contact the business I am working with?

Contacting the business is not a requirement, and is only necessary in the following instances:

  • Where key information is missing from the job details (such as a meeting location or parking information)

  • Where the job details request you to contact the business (such as to provide your t-shirt size, or to call an on-site manager upon arrival)

Some businesses will include contact information in the job details but if not, you will always be able to find the job contact and their preferred contact method in the job "To-dos".

Some jobs will have Sidekicker listed as the preferred contact, in which case feel free to get in touch with our team but make sure you specify which job you're referring to so we can help you in a timely manner!

Note: As your employer of record, please contact Sidekicker directly for any questions relating to pay or if you need to withdraw.

What are confirmation texts and how do they work?

When you are successful on a job, we will send you a text reminder at 10am the day prior to your shift asking you to confirm you can still attend. If we do not hear back from you, we will send you another text at 2pm.

If you do not confirm your shift with us, our Support team will attempt to contact you via the Sidekicker app, email, and sometimes by phone. If we still cannot reach you, then we may need to withdraw you from the shift. In which case, we will treat this the same as any withdrawal which is subject to the conditions outlined in our Reliability Policy.

In some cases we can keep you assigned to a shift even if we do not hear back from you, but this is dependant on a number of factors, including whether or not you have been reliably working with that business in recent weeks. If we choose to keep you assigned to a shift but you do not show up, this will be treated as a no-show which could result in you losing access to jobs on Sidekicker.

Why do I have to confirm my shifts?

Confirmation texts act as a handy reminder to our Sidekicks about their upcoming jobs with us. This reduces the chances of you accidentally missing a job and ensures we find out about any potential changes to your availability before the job starts.

Confirmation texts also provide us - and the businesses we work with - with confidence you can still attend the jobs you have committed to.

Why did I not receive a confirmation text?

You may not receive a confirmation text from us in the following scenarios:

  1. You were hired on a shift within 48 hours of the shift start time, or

  2. You are consistently and regularly working with the same business

If you do not receive a confirmation text from us, please ensure you withdraw as soon as possible if you can no longer attend a job for any reason.
